During this semester in humanities we have talked about Black Girls creating maroon communities as result of societies bias and often neglected understanding of Black women’s contributions. I have been creating vision boards for a long time and in a sense they represent the values and communities I hold dear. For me this serves as a personal form of justice that even in a world that is not built to be hospitable for Black women that I still have carved a space into the universe that I can call my own.
